Reasons Why Bubbles May Not Appear:
- The power of the air pump must match the depth of the fish tank. Deeper water creates more pressure, which requires a more powerful air pump. The pump’s pressure must be greater than the water pressure to generate bubbles effectively.
- If the tank bottom is covered with fine sand or if the water contains a lot of suspended particles, the air chamber in the lamp can fill with water when the pump is off. These particles may clog the air vent. In that case, remove the lamp from the water and clean the air outlet with a medium-soft brush while the pump is running.
- When the air pump is turned off, the lamp’s air chamber fills with water. Once turned back on, the air has to displace the water, causing a delay before bubbles appear.
