The chiller temperature can be maintained between 68℉–79℉ (20℃–26℃), supporting healthy plant growth and aquatic life like axolotls. It features a corrosion-resistant pure titanium pump compatible with both freshwater and saltwater.
- Effective Cooling System – Two cooling fans efficiently dissipate heat to extend the compressor’s lifespan and save energy. Multiple side vents further enhance heat dissipation, keeping the aquarium water consistently cool. Leave at least 6 inches (15 cm) around the chiller for proper airflow.
- Silent Operation – Designed with noise-reduction features, the compressor operates quietly. It monitors water temperature in real time and automatically starts cooling if temperatures rise above the preset level. After a power outage, it resumes cooling based on the previously set temperature.
- Tolerance Setting – Each chiller features a tolerance setting (F1), adjustable from 1 to 60. For example, if the start temp is set to 79°F and the tolerance is 2, the chiller will activate at 79°F and cool until it reaches 77°F, then repeat as needed.
- Usage Suggestions – Cooling efficiency depends on ambient temperature and tank size. For instance, with a room temp of 77℉, the AL-160 can reduce the temperature of a 150L tank to 75–78℉. A 35-gallon (132 L) tank can reach around 73℉. For water below 68℉, use a tank smaller than 80L. For better cooling, consider upgrading to the AL-300 model.
